About

Noematic Commons is a Stoat chat room for actively investigating, documenting, or creating material related to alterhuman/nonhuman/plural noemata. There are no requirements regarding the public availability or refinement of your projects, but any projects should be ongoing.

Focus topics include reconstructive conlanging, reconstructive conworlding, reconstructive/speculative biology, and comparative studies (discussion of Earth, and works of fiction present on it, in isolation and in comparison to noemata).

This is not a space meant for passively observing others' projects. Participants are expected to contribute to their own ongoing project or lines of inquiry.

Rules

1. Be respectful. Harassment, personal attacks, intimidation, and disruptive behavior are not permitted.
2. Do not be discriminatory. Racism, xenophobia, sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, intersexism, saneism, ableism, or other discriminatory behaviors are not permitted.
3. Remember that this is a study and project space. Casual conversation is welcome where appropriate, but it should not overtake the focus topics.
4. Stay on topic. Discussion should remain relevant to the server's focus topics. Extended off-topic conversation should be conducted elsewhere.
5. Be aware of unfalsifiable statements. Many subjects discussed here cannot be proven wrong by observation, experiment, or logical testing. Because no external test can ever show it to be false, it falls outside the bounds of analytical science. Members should be aware of this fact, and regard each other in good faith accordingly.
6. Employ intellectual honesty. Acknowledge credit when due, and cite your sources. Ask questions before making assumptions. Collaboration and attribution are encouraged.
7. Be a bodily adult. This chat room is for participants in a body that is legally aged 18 or older.
8. Respect everyone's privacy. Do not repost or share another member's work or personal information outside the community without their permission.
9. Welcome systems of all origins. Plural systems are welcome regardless of origin.
10. Maintain proxy clarity. For those using the Titan bot proxy, provide a means of pinging your root account. This rule is to facilitate contacting chat members. Here are two common methods of doing this:
• Set your Titan display nickname in the format p!nick Name (Account name). For example, Ske uses: Sliskej (December) to show that he is Sliskej, and that he is proxied from the @December Stoat account.
  This is the preferred option.
• List the members who will speak with Titan in your shared application post, as part of question #1.
